LTPTP XXV: We Shall Overcome
We shall indeed. It's a lovely wee tune to learn. I've almost memorized it this morning, the idea being, when I encounter a piano, I want something to sit down and play on the bugger. I've a feeling that my keyboard's keys are lighter than a proper piano's, and there'll be a bit of effort transferring the skills I've gotten so far. Probably, at some point this year, I'll be in workplace with a piano. I'll print off some simple music and scales, and work at it, but it's likely to be in a public place so I want something to avoid making a twat of myself initially. It feels right that this should be the first tune I learn by heart.
Nice shot, indeed. Of course, realise that the lens that mainly affects the quality of this photo. It's not clear what lens he used, although from the EXIF it was taken at 90mm f4.2, but that doesn't give me much to go on other than it not being the kit lens (which is 18-55 I think)
ReplyDeleteCheers, Facto'. I'll have a shufty at some more EXIFs in Flickr later.
ReplyDeleteHi again Garry - have you checked out a superb site called.... http://www.dpreview.com/
ReplyDeletethis contains all sorts of photographic reviews and general photographers info - in particular I thought you may be interested in a Nikon D70/D50 forum for owners/prospective owners to air their thoughts and views - as well as a Nikon SLR lens forum where they discuss the pros and cons of the various lenses.
I have also seen the D50 available with the 18-70 lens which could be a killer combo - I've been looking at the dslr situation too and feel the Nikon D50 body seems a step up in build quality from the more popular alternatives out there and with the 18-70 lens should be a very good buy.
There's also another site called www.steves-digicams.com for more camera info and I seem to recall one called 'nikonians' or something like that purely dedicated to Nikon owners.
DDDoohhh - I've just noticed from your '...and make it snappy VI' post that you already have a link to dpreview - in that case forget my bit about that site - maybe the other two will be of use to you though.
ReplyDeleteThat 18-70 D50 sounds good. Where'd you see that? How much?
ReplyDeleteThe standard D50 kit is going for about £400 at Jacobs.
Check out www.ajpurdy.co.uk I'm sure they have the D50/18-70 lens kit deal for £560ish - there's also
ReplyDeletehttp://www.slrgear.com/reviews/index.php for lens info from users.
drools... I want a nice digital... this shot is awesome!
